Blab! 5.0 -> 5.6 UPGRADE 
 
Please follow the instructions carefully!

  1. Make sure that noone is chatting.

  2. Unzip the files from the ZIP archive in a new empty directory e.g. /new_chat.

  3. Open /new_chat/config.php by a text editor and set the variables you are running your current chat with (Make sure that you set the same $salt from your old config.php).

  4. Upload the directory /new_chat (and all files/subdirectories in it) to your server by an FTP program.

  5. * If you are upgrading from version 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2 -> CHMOD the subdirectory /paintings to 777

    * if you are upgrading from a later version CHMOD new_chat/paintings to 777 and transfer all files from your old /paintings directory to /new_chat/paintings.

  6. Go to /new_chat -> ACP -> Settings -> Update DB and update your database entries if necessary.

  7. Go to /new_chat -> ACP -> Settings and make sure that your default language is set properly.


  8. Make sure that your new chat is working properly, remove the old chat directory and rename /new_chat to whatever you wish.
